When Operational Systems Are Targeted: Cyber Resilience Across Western Australia’s Critical Sectors

Thursday, 21 May 2026, 12:00pm - 2:00pm AWST

Across Western Australia’s economy, operational systems underpin productivity, safety, and continuity - from industrial control environments and energy networks to healthcare systems, financial services infrastructure, transport, and essential services. As digitisation accelerates and connectivity deepens, environments once isolated are now integrated with enterprise networks, vendors, cloud platforms, and remote operations, fundamentally reshaping the cyber risk landscape.

Shana Uhlmann, General Manager Technology, Perth Airport will share insights from the perspective of a critical transport and infrastructure environment, where operational continuity, safety and customer experience are tightly interconnected. Drawing on her experience leading technology across a major aviation hub, Shana will reflect on how the evolving cyber risk landscape is impacting airport and transport operations, how digital integration is reshaping traditional operational environments, and where organisations are focusing to strengthen resilience while maintaining seamless service delivery.

This will be complemented by Josh Alcock, Regional OT & Threat Intelligence Manager ANZ, Fortinet, who will bring frontline insight into how threat actors are targeting operational technology environments and how leading organisations are responding.
