Critical Systems Under Pressure: Resilience in a Time of Change

Tuesday, 12 May 2026, 12:00pm - 2:00pm AEST

As Queensland enters a period of significant growth and infrastructure expansion, a critical question is emerging across sectors: How resilient are the systems that underpin the state’s future? From energy and transport to resources, health and government services, the intersection of cyber security, engineering systems and rapid digitalisation is reshaping how leaders think about operational continuity, risk and system integrity.

Suzanne Shipp, Chief Engineer and Acting CIO, Energy Queensland will share reflections from the perspective of a major infrastructure operator; how she is seeing the evolving risk landscape across operational systems, where resilience priorities are shifting, and how large asset organisations are thinking about security, reliability and system integrity in a rapidly digitising environment.

This will be complemented by Josh Alcock, Regional OT & Threat Intelligence Manager ANZ, Fortinet, who will bring frontline insight into how threat actors are targeting operational technology environments and how leading organisations are responding.
