Corporate Affairs Circle: Communicating in a Crisis

Friday, 31st July 2026 | 10:00 am - 10:45 am NZST

In times of crisis, it’s the lack of information that allows misinformation to spread.

The Corporate Affairs Circle invites you to a discussion with industry leaders about the role of communications during times of crisis.

Join former Huawei Technologies NZ Deputy-CEO and current Orion Health Vice President of Corporate Operations Andrew Bowater and Auckland Airport’s Head of Corporate Affairs & Stakeholder Management Libby Middlebrook as they discuss experiences and key learnings from their careers. This will be an unfiltered conversation digging into what actually works, what's changing, and how to manage it all when you and your team already have a full stack of work, outside of managing issues.

From Donald Trump calling for global boycotts and social media death threats to being door-stopped by media and navigating the complexities of the current fuel crisis – this will be a lively conversation on one of the most challenging aspects of corporate affairs leadership.

This will be Chatham House Rule session and it will be facilitated by Pead Partner Jack Wheeler. It’s proudly presented by the Trans-Tasman Business Circle and Pead.
